Yeah, the purchase process is pretty tortious. Not represented here in NZ. I got it from a German retailer via reverb. They shipped it to NZ. https://reverb.com/marketplace?query=Tiny+boy+bass

Tiny Boy Bass Link Removed My only complaint is the bass is a bit nose heavy. Maybe we'll see other manufacturers offering 23" options now that Dogal has developed the strings Link Removed Type: 23" in the website search field.

I wonder when Phil Jones started out if he ever imagined he'd be a key player in the miniature bass movement. I certainly couldn't have imagined what we have now 40 years ago. Great times!

    short scale bass recommendations

I've had my Tiny Boy bass for a few weeks now. Really liking it. 23" scale, steel roundwound strings. Good tension, good definition. They make J & P models, 4 & 5 string, and a fretless with flats. The magic is in the strings, hand-made by an Italian orchestral string manufacturer.

It lacks a pre-amp but if he's going to use the Noble preamp that wouldn't matter. Alternatively, there's a BG 300 for sale here in NZ [Invalid...

    Multiscale - Right hand technique

For even tone you want to be plucking each string in the same place relative to its length. So the right hand needs to move forward towards the headstock between the low B and high G string on a multiscale. I have discovered that my "natural" right hand tendency is to head rearward from B to G...

Yes, I wrote a tuba quintet in Musescore and it's synthesized tuba voices made my PB-300 fart pretty easily. Sounded great a low volumes but could not get to close to the sound of 5 actual tubas;-)
