    Double Bass Warm up the rosin on the bow?

    I have heard a suggestion to warm up the rosin on a bow by simply sawing back and forth for a while. The idea is that even if a player is well warmed up, a bow will not sound good immediately but the rosin on the hair needs to be warmed up before it will sound good. Any thoughts on this...
