I ordered one of the Future compact housings a couple weeks ago and it shipped this week.

MIDI THRU was off. I did some more research on the thread and followed instructions for starting in Boot mode, and wrote the factory files back to FI. After that the synth performed as expected and I was able to write new patches from the editor. Not sure what glitched but I'm happy to be back...

Not sure what MIDI THRU is. I am connected like so: I am using Roland Midi cables (firmware update works) MidibeamV2 Out to FI Midi In Midibeam InV2 to FI Midi Out I ordered MidiBeam2 and probably should have ordered MidiBeam 4 Controller.

Thank you. You are correct I was using just the midibeam with no additional cables. My impression from the docs was that’s all I needed. Will pick up some cables and try again. Thanks for the clarity.
