Whats the best teeny tiny practice type amp?

I picked up an old peavey micro bass at a pawn shop a few years back for around 20 bucks. I use it for practicing at home. I also like to stuff an sm57 into it for rough tracks. Sounds great.

    Old fart, new amp. Suggestions?

After much contemplation and listening, I am going with the th500 and 2 db112nt's. Stringing up flats for this set up. Should be great. Thanks all

    Old fart, new amp. Suggestions?

Toying with the idea of the tone hammer 500 and 2 avatar 112's. The little rocker in me does still like the idea of a 1000 watt 4 12 system that could be carried by a ten year old. Just something cool about that. That being said, I almost feel my gut was leading me in the right direction to...

    Old fart, new amp. Suggestions?

Sorry, I meant 112's. I'm at about $2200 for the th500 and 2 of the aguilar 112's. Still checking out other suggested cabs though. Two 8ohm cabs at any rate.

You all are very helpful, thanks Budget is around 1500, but I'm willing to push to 2k. I'm off the combo kick, thanks for that. A few lightweight 212's and a class d head seems the best route. Had a chance to try a tone hammer, nice little head. One 212 for a small club circuit with a spare if...

Thanks. The reason I'm leaning towards the combo modular idea is so I can simply take it out of a van and it's ready to go. I don't see a bus in the picture any time soon, all van road time.

Do you think I am fooling myself in thinking the combo version, with the extra powered cab for outdoor, will suffice? Some great suggestions thus far. Thank you all.

The tone hammer looks like a possibility. 500@4 ohms would be plenty loud. 250@8 with a 2x12 makes sense for smaller clubs. Thanks for the reply

I was looking at the same v4b set up. Almost pulled the trigger. I also looked at the new tc bh series and the new orange hybrid. A gtr/bass head it seems. So many good options. I forgot to add the bass I chose for this project. Picked up a Squire Corbonita 4. A bit of tweaking and it has a nice...

    Old fart, new amp. Suggestions?

i have been out of the live duties for a few years, having moved on a bit to production work. I have been recently tapped for a decent gig and could not say no. Pretty decent. I was using big, heavy, loud... You get it. Svt, tube, 8x10, backbreaking stuff with great tone. My gear was awesome and...

Geddy Lee - Great Bassist - Bad Technique

Love his approach. I always thought of him as a great example of a heavy handed rock bassist. I know it is easy to forget because he is in Rush and they get their fair share of teasing. I have a ton of respect for him. Rush- Limelight Bass Track - YouTube

    FENDER MODERN PLAYER TELE

I would love that bass with the vintage frets. Those medium jumbos seem a bit much for that neck. Sexy bass though.

    Is This A CL Scam?

+1 Glad I am not alone in that rare moment of satisfaction. Even if it is pointless.

    Best bass for self defense?

Mahogany. Anything mahogany is sure to leave a mark. Aim for the knees.
