I ended up with 3 white P basses. One is pure Olympic White another one is more cream color and the third has turned to a shade of yellow almost a butter color

This thread made me think of a friend who has since passed away. He played a crazy multiple string bass and it had 20 something strings on it and I don't remember how he tuned it but the neck was huge. He played it only on one tune but it really worked on that song!

This may sound crazy but I've had acouple of Modulus 6 strings and those necks were some of the most comfortable necks I've ever played on of any basses I've had. That was the main reason I had 6's

I know what you're saying! I've played P basses forever and never really cared for Jazz basses. I just got a Lakland P/J and the tones I was able to get from it just knocked me out!

Lake Placid Blue is my first choice it was the color of my first car a '63 Chevy Impala vs the Sunburst on my very first Fender a 66 P Bass

If that person has the money and can afford it by all means go for it as then it's something then that can be fully utilized. That's just my thoughts on this from somewhat of a personal experience as I've obtained a few of could be considered high end instruments but nothing in the $25k range...

I was told a long time ago if you can't really tell the the difference in how an instrument that costs alot of money plays and sounds compared to an inexpensive one all you're doing is buying something to just satisfy your ego

I totally agree! As a matter of fact the Washburn had one put in when my repair guru fixed it. All my active bass have one including my main 5s which are Lakelands
