Perhaps a dumb question, but... I know a lot of us here in Rumble Land play both bass and guitar. How many of you run your six-string through your Rumble? If so, do you use some sort of preamp (maybe a tubed one) to get a more black/silver panel (or Vox/Marshall, for that matter)...

Looking through their online performances, I saw no other example of the bass playing through effects. Always a pretty clean, albeit heavy, tone. The rhythm guitar, however, wanders to the fuzzy side occasionally. Granted, my sample size was small. A marvelous idea!

No argument here. Good points, all. In the context of the documentary, these guys (and the ubiquitous Carol Kaye) needed/wanted to stay on top and did so for a decade by playing on everything, everywhere. It's an interesting flick, if you haven't seen it.
