Fender Rumble Club

You know how the Rumble-hating heretics always talk about the "baked-in covered-with-a-blanket" sound? Well, the overdrive causes a loss of low end (like all non-boutique overdrive units on the planet). So, in difficult rooms, it can serve as a handy, instant demuddificator. The low end will be cut even if you have the drive level low enough so that no actual distortion is added.

Practicing with my Lakland 44-02 using my Rumble 200, sounds great together. All my basses sound great through my Rumble, if it's a baked in tone people say they don't like, it may have a lot to do with the sound of the bass, and knowledge of using the EQ etc.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Have a great day/night and Rumble on!

I accidentally used a little R100 OD recently. It sounded good. I played around in practice with it. I bet I can find s use for it.
I use the Rumble OD more and more. Sounds very good for most of what we do, Free, Skynyrd, Dr Feelgood, Hurriganes, Petty, Cream, Purple, Whitesnake, ZZ Top….traditional rock is what I’m trying to say:)

I've been eyeing the regular 800 combo for a while and it's currently sitting in my shopping cart. I have a Rumble 100, but the 800c will definitely be my next purchase when I have the funds. Can't get over how lightweight it is... Even lighter than the 500c. And besides the weight, I'd rather just go as future-proof as possible and jump straight to the 800 anyway.

I do think about if I should just get another 100c and combine them together since I already have one 100, but I think the simplicity of just carrying the 800 alone would be worth the tradeoff. I don't think I'd ever need anything beyond that except maybe the 210 cab one day.

Besides, I already have 4 bass combos in my house, so what's one more?
exactly what my GAS wants me to do!
If it weren't 27% VAT here, i'd've pulled that trigger months ago! :)

I’d be upset about any extra as well. We pay sales tax in the US, that varies by state and locality. The worst part is the affront of calling it “value added” tax. How absurd. Cost added, yes, but not value.
VAT is the only tax. 20% in France. I think Germany is 19%. It's less for fresh foods like fruits and vegetables. But the price is the price. Restaurant prices include VAT and service. The price of a car includes VAT. No guessing. As for added value, I pay less per year for my health insurance supplement (basic is FREE!) than I paid per month in the U.S., saving me over $8,000 per year. Plenty of added value for me.

[back on topic]
Before I bought my GR Bass AT Cube 500 combo and 112 cab. My Studio 40 is now in the living room.

Perhaps a dumb question, but... I know a lot of us here in Rumble Land play both bass and guitar. How many of you run your six-string through your Rumble? If so, do you use some sort of preamp (maybe a tubed one) to get a more black/silver panel (or Vox/Marshall, for that matter), guitar-friendly tone? Or maybe a modeler straight into the power section (FX Return). Is the stock Eminence suitable for the higher registers?

Getting tired of dragging two amps, even light ones, around.

I keep seeing comments here and there praising the Joyo American pedal. I don’t have any experience with it though.

Didn't do a thing for me so I returned it. It just introduced more variables that I didn't want or need to deal with...same as a few tube pedals that I bought and sold.

I found the stock R100 Combo was fine, in the mix, once you dial in the EQ.

Maybe a dumb answer, but ... I do LOVE strummin' my 6-strings on my front porch swing, uh ... that is, through my Rumbles. My Rumble 500 combo can really crank some smooth, rich gitfiddle! :)

But, other'n playing the lead to "Incense and Peppermint" thru my lead guitarist's Fuzz Face about 55 years ago, I really don't care for individual fx pedals much. My Fender Deluxe DSP 90 has enough basic fx built-in, but if I wanna get psyeriously psychedelic I can crank up the Fender Cyber-Champ with Cyber Foot-Controller, and the DSP 90 connected for STEREO FX! :wideyed:

But more often, along those lines (an' 'cuz I'm lazy), I like pickin' & grinnin' through my Rumble Studio 40 and it's various amps, cabs & fx models & looper. As a bass amp it gives the warm, rich tones I like for clean solo guitar, yet it has enough built-in fx to get anything from basic surf to way outlandish psycho-fantasy sounds! :smug:

Tired of draggin' two amps & pedals & cables? Just gitcha a Rumble Stage 800 and do your multi-instrumental thang simply & soundly! Checkout the Stage & Studio Links section of your Rumble Club Wiki page for more information about 'em. Then, PLEASE use your Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800 sub-thread to this main thread of The Club for questions and discussions about 'em.

worked quite well as a "clean" amp (still OD on, low gain), I did not like the OD sound of the amp alone for guitar, so I'd use some gain pedals for sure.
Expect to turn the bass down a LOT on the amp tough! :) and play with EQ, it makes big differences!

Exactly what I have, the R100 combo. Any lessons-learned EQ guidelines?

I'm probably pretty spoiled by the guitar amps that I have so I may be too picky about what I'm asking of a bass amp. Not looking for metal sounds, but clean to dirty tweed or overdriven black panel would be nice. It's probably asking too much for some Voxy chime, innit.

Just curious if anyone's doing something in a gigging situation. Thanks!
