Worship Bass Pedalboards

Just wanted to say thanks for this. I picked up a C4 on an impulse buy this week and I'm incredibly lost with it.

This is very much a "funsies" pedal for me as I have yet to really need/use a synth during service....yet.
C4 is very much a "funnsies" pedal. Keep tweaking settings and spend some time with it. I'm still figuring things out and learning how to use it. Don't be afraid of the Nuero app. Once you get used to the workflow it makes sense.

The settings i have for this is from memory not a side by side comparison. It started as a Moog setting i found in the Source Audio community. It works for those intense moments. YMMV

Something in my small board is crackling like the end section of a vinyl record. Had to go minimalist (direct) this morning. We have a good board and competent sound guys but I could use a little more compression I think. I’m getting a really good snap playing with a pick this morning.

I was just looking at them used and was surprised how much value they hold! $400 or more for a beat up one, plus shipping... 😅

I guess they do offer quite a bit of value even at full price, considering how powerful and flexible they are, but still...
We used to own two of them. We sold them when my son was supposed to complete his paddleboard and I bought a helix LT. So now, my son uses my helix LT and I am stuck figuring out what to do for my own pedal board.

I got the Noble back on Friday. I wanted Jack to replace the faceplate because it had some wear that was bothering me. While there, he said that the knobs weren't original and one of the tubes was a bit fussy. So, I had him replace everything. He's a great guy.

It is so great to have it back. I was starting to miss it. I've tried a number of preamps, but the Noble just feels like home.

I started to get a handle on the BMS and I'm liking it now. I wasn't sold on it at first, but I think it will work really well in the mix--in just the right spot of the song.

The Highpoint continues to impress me. I'm going to leave it on for a while and see how it goes.

I also have the Lightspeed and BBJ on the board.

Other than that, I have the Shure wireless that hasn't moved off the board since I got it.

This handles 99% of my needs. I may put a chorus pedal on there too for the 3 times per year I need it. But, it's not a priority.

On the bass front, I've been playing through my setlist with a 4 to see how many songs really need the 5 string. I was shocked by how many songs I could do on a 4 with a drop D tuner. I think there's one song that needs the low C and a few that I use a low B on just for some spice. But, I've kind of switched my focus from effects to basses. I've always felt that finding a nice 4 string is easier than finding a nice 5 string--getting a nice B being the hassle.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised how well the transpose feature works in the QC. I run -5 for BEAD tuning sometimes and it makes me want to get a bass strung that way.
Anyone here use a Mantle + Highpoint?

I’ve being using a BUS Compressor and a Tone3000 Mantle Capture on my Anagram, and I like it a lot. It makes me want to GAS for the real deal.
I think it’s safe to say that would be a great combo. Have you tried the 1073 plugin for the Anagram?

I just got a used Highpoint on Reverb and the Mantle/Highpoint pairing is very nice. Here I'm testing it with a Tone Hammer and the Origin EQ Deluxe. Very polished and finished.

Great report! My one year Noble order wait should be ready in about two weeks. I'm really enjoying the Mantle, so eager to see how this compares.

On the 4-string, I was fortunate to pick up a lovely 2022 Lull P4 from worship bassist @Killens84 a couple of months ago and am really bonding with it. Anyone ever play a Lull with their thunderbird pickups? I'm very curious.

I had a Lull JT5 back in 2015-2016. It was a cool bass. I really liked the TBird pickups. I had a 60's non-reverse refin back then too. I'm happy with the P Basses at the moment, but I do get curious from time to time.

They go nice together. I think the Highpoint really compliments the Mantle. But, then again, I think the Highpoint would compliment any preamp. It's a great compressor. I wouldn't mind having the Mantle on my board, but ultimately, I've decide that I can't move on from the Noble.
