Success!! Works perfectly. Thank you so much @fig I moved the two white wires off the pot onto the posts as described above and left the braided connections where they were. Now I can select between the two pickups or have a mix of the two. Great. Thanks once again.

Yes, that is correct. :thumbsup: While I have the iron on, besides moving the white wire from L3 to P2, to tidy things up a bit could I also move the white wire from L2 to P3? Perhaps the braided shield could be moved to P1 but I might leave it on the pot lug. I might remake the connection...

Many thanks for your reply @fig. Using some insulating tape to partially cover one meter lead probe, just leaving the tip exposed, and attaching a carefully crafted bent piece of wire to the other meter lead I was able to obtain readings on all three of the bottom lugs. Once again, the results...
