It's not the cable. I actually contacted DPA and they said it's a known issue they're working on solving. I'm sending them the mic for evaluation.

Hi all, I recently got a DPA 4099 mic and no matter how I place it, I get an awful low end rattle/distortion. I'm pretty sure it's not the mic itself as it works fine when put on a stand. Could it be a defective rubber clamp? Or another component? Has anyone experienced and solved a similar...

Thanks! It's not the cable, because it rattles when there's no cable plugged in it.
