I’ve been told the “Y” could mean the Burny brand. Do you consider Burny one of the “big” names coming out of a factory such as Matsumoka?

Only marking on this bass is a Y on the back of the neck. I know this is a Japanese made “lawsuit era” bass. But based on that marking, any ideas as to the manufacturer? Greco? Penco? Burny?

I’m guessing stainless steel rounds on his J bass…

Craig McGregor was One of my all time faves. His groove and tone with Foghat was top notch. He was mostly seen with J basses but does anyone know anything about his other gear, strings, etc? Thx

Yep and I know an excellent luthier here locally who could do that work. Thought I’d try a replacement neck first to give my G.A.S. a dopamine fix.

The existing neck I think is warped. The truss rod nut is stripped but I was able to get it to move. However, the truss rod can’t be tightened any further. A previous owner shimmed the neck but still the action is very high. I found an epiphone eb-0 neck here on TB, and will install that...

Does anyone know where to find a replacement neck for a 70’s eb-0/sg japanese copy? Or, will an epiphone eb-0 bolt on neck fit?

I just acquired a 70’s MIJ EB-0/SG copy and it needs a neck adjustment. I’ve tried a number of allen wrenches and a Gibson style adjustment tool and nothing is grabbing. Does anyone know specifically what tool to use on these basses?
