Thanks all. Sounds like I wasted money on the Auralex pad thinking it would reduce the sound levels going through the floor, but perhaps it might have some utility in front of the speakers as mentioned. If I do put the cabs on the pad, should I rotate the feet to the side on the 115 so it sits...

I just got an Auralex pad for this rig (115 + 112 + D800+) to try to keep the sound out of other rooms while practicing. While I am at it, should the 115 go on top, or the 112? Before the pad, I would keep the bottom cab unhooked to keep the sound off the floor. Now I want to run them both...

Yep. Totally worth it. I get to play Barbie with quality components, and pick custom finishes at the same time. What more could a a tinkerer want?

I bought a black Sub5 unlined fretless a billion years ago. It has a 2 band active EQ and a nice plank of Pau Ferro on it. I gave it a nice WD Music BWB pickguard for Christmas. Looks snazzy. I figured this was a way to cover five string and fretless options with good quality and little cash...

Thinking about assembling a rear-routed dual EMG 35 bass with four holes on the front and no side jack. A BTC active preamp with two P4 pickups sort of Lee Sklar-ish. Vol-Bal-Tone-Output Jack. Should I rout for 18 volt or 9 volt? What are the pros and cons?

Medium scale Warmoth parts Jazz and Precision. Don’t know the measurements but the ~35.5” TI JF324 fit ok on the Warmoth headstock, and on the Warhead headstock as long as the bridge reaches another 3/8” to the rear. So in a perfect world there would be TI JF304 and medium scale...

Any chance of a special run of these? Are the regular Pressurewounds gaining popularity? They sure are nice! Easy on the fingers and very little string noise.

Seems like a pain in the butt to try to sort a tone with the relative level of each pickup and set an overall volume at the same time. Why not have them with a master volume and a balance pot instead? Wouldn't it be easier?

Thinking about minimizing my speakers, as I don't practice much and maybe could get rid of the guitar cab. I have an older Aguilar GS112 that I put a Deltalite 2512 II into for a flatter response. Can I run the 7/15 watt 8 ohm Orange Tiny Terror guitar amp into it for what little guitar...

The 32" Warmoth headstocks fit the short scale TIs better than the 32" Warhead. IME if you use a Hipshot Kickass Bridge, then the Warhead works fine with about a half inch of silk to spare. String-through bridge I need to try yet. TI should make JF304s for 30" scale....
