Never gave much thought to my vintage Univox Superfuzz until I saw what they sell for on ebay.

I read that Fender uses automotive paint to finish their instruments. Does mean I can polish the body and neck (not fretboard)with car wax? The bass in question is a 1989 MIA J in tobacco sunburst.

The skunk stripe on the neck of my 1990 MIA J-bass has raised enough that I can just feel it with my thumb, not enough to catch with a fingernail. Is there a way I can buff it down wothout refinishing the neck? A repairman told me a few years back if it got any worse, he could replace the neck...
