    Basses that disappointed you...

No idea about Rickenbaker and Music Man, but I know I hate Ibanez basses.

Why don't you do something then?

    Basses that disappointed you...

At Fender, you can't get 7.25" neck radius (non-vintage) basses anymore. Basswood sounds muffled. Modern electronics might sound different. "U" necks are gone. I have a modern Epi Les Paul Special Bass, have you seen the bridge on that?? Gone are the days of simple, two double-saddle bridges...

    Basses that disappointed you...

I got the same thing, man!! :hyper::hyper: Back in 2001, with a Squier Jazz Bass. I was recording a demo in somebody's apartment and when we played back the part we all noticed the radio thing and went: "whooooa... wt#!!?" So we played it again and again and couldn't understand how it...

    Basses that disappointed you...

I don't know about 30 or 40 years ago, but in these days of industrial quantities it surely seems to be the ideal way to go.

    Basses that disappointed you...

That's the reason none of these brands go out of business. No matter how many dislike their products, there are always others that like them. Furthermore, in my opinion, each manufacturer puts out at least an equal number of duds, as well as properly built and inspected instruments. So...

    Basses that disappointed you...

Ibanez Jetking B300 3 Jazz-style single pickups (bridge/middle/neck), each one sounded more trebly than a Jazz bridge pickup. Bad electronics. The body looked shaped with a hand saw. Horrible neck profile (my first and last contact with an Ibanez neck) and overall feel... to me. Crooked...

    New Squier/Fender Basses Announced (Old?)

This link demonstrates a bit how the Fender Mustang sounds. If Squier uses basswood instead of alder, then the highs will be sucked out of the sound more. If they use mahogany instead of alder, then the mids and lows will get weaker in comparison. And as far as I know, the maple fretboard...

    New Squier/Fender Basses Announced (Old?)

Wow, mutant! That's the first time I've seen something like that. :hmm: In this case, I wonder why haven't they made 5-string American Deluxe P-Basses, only Jazz-5's? Next, I'm waiting for a picture of a six string split coil. :hyper:

    New Squier/Fender Basses Announced (Old?)

I thought split coils were only available for 4 string basses. I've never seen split coils on a five string bass. How do you split them? 2&3, 3&2? 1&4, 4&1? :p The two Blacktops are up on the Fender site now, BTW.

    New Squier/Fender Basses Announced (Old?)

I wonder if Squier's gonna keep the Bronco model in production, now that they're bringin' Mustang on as well. Also the Bronco has a 9.5" radius maple fretboard neck, I'm curious if they're gonna keep the Mustang 7.25" radius neck, or switch it to 9.5". The fretboard looks like will go from...
