    Back issues...getting old sucks

Thanks for the link, Rip. I checked it out and it looks worth the try. I'm a 5ft tall nurse by day and play bass all night so my back always kills. I'm pretty sure I have a pinched nerve. Sorry to hear about your back pain Fishtx. (I found this thread looking for strap suggestions.) A...

Ever hate a song so much you'd risk being fired?

I meant it to be hypothetical answer, and then just got into the idea of wonder whether I'd be fired for getting so mad about it/refusing to play it or quitting bc I just would lose interest if my band played a song I hated and we agreed not to play; that's all. Didn't mean to say you were...

Ever hate a song so much you'd risk being fired?

Here at the job, and everyone asked me to switch the station when SRV came on (what the??) to contemporary adult hits.... and guess what song came on... CALL ME MAYBE. It's terrible. I don't blame you for hating it and being very offended when your bandmate wanted to play it when you agreed...

Possibly me +1! I'll be on vacay, but I'm a benny:p , so not sure if we're going down that way. What kind of music is it? I'd check it out, but work has myspace and facebook blocked. :help: Edit: Just checked it out! Fun stuff!!

how to fill the hole left by a soloing guitarist

Thanks. Just checked it out. Sounds pretty good in this vid. Didn't hear much delay... Not in love with the guy's "guitar" tone, but it still sounded pretty full.

    Best bass around $300?

I think the Squier Modified Jazz bass is a pretty dead on choice for you. It's a $300 Jazz and fretless. You'd probably have a lot of fun.:bassist: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/squier-vintage-modified-fretless-jazz-bass

Rocksmith Bass support, now in player testing phase!

Awesome! I have the game. I don't think I'd ever leave the house if I they'd expand it for bass.

    Hello from somewhere in NJ

Hello, I'm just a musician (keys, guitar) that picked up a bass one day and couldn't put it down. I think I've found my calling. Glad to find the gamut of skilled bass players represented here. When I'm not here, I'm scanning YouTube for a new lesson. Love to read about gear and effects...

    Carol Kaye - Chordal Notes

Looked this up just yesterday! Here's some theory, a video, and a pretty helpful transcription of Carol Kaye Chordal Scale Exercises from a teacher in Australia: Invalid Link Removed

how to fill the hole left by a soloing guitarist

This pedal came to mind as soon as I saw this thread. I feel like it could be pretty awesome during solos, especially for 3 piece bands.... There seem to be mixed reviews here on the forum, with tracking problems in the bad reviews. No reviews on Musician's Friend. Does anyone know of...

How do YOU like to play?

Same order goes for me. There's a finesse to fingerpicking that I really enjoy. Slapping I use to get a point across. I find I rarely go to a pick... for me, it's good for speed.
