Here's a little update, I haven't found any info about the core of the string. I will say that after months of playing, these strings still sound amazing. They still sound very lively and have help up pretty nicely. Again, I would recommend trying these.

I'm not saying guys who work out of modified homes or garages are bad, I'm saying that it seems like a load when my buddy tells me he has the contracts for ALL guitar center stores in CT as well as the other states mentioned. You're trying to tell me he's the only one authorized to do repairs...

There aren't any tiny tears from what I can tell, but my thoughts were what if the voice coil is damaged? The only way to tell would be to remove the dust cap right? My drummer who works for GC is siding with the amp guy trying to say that he has all of the contracts for all GC's in the state...

I've tightened all of the screws on the speakers, that's not the problem. It's the woofer itself. It's rather disappointing, but it's under warranty. It's not like I beat on my cab either, I've barely turned the volume up past 3 on my amp.

Thanks for the info, I did this prior to reading your post and I still got the sound so I was thinking to myself, "what the hell?!" and I pulled off the grill. Sure enough the second woofer is making the noise. Looks like I'm contacting GK about this.

Thanks for the advice, I'm pretty sure it's not the emblem because it's fairly snug. It's just that the edges of the grill are not super snug against the tolex and it's causing a little bit of buzzing/rattling when I hit a note on say the 15th fret of the E string.

I'm getting a slight buzz from the grill of my GK Neo 212 cab when I play notes higher up on the scale on my E and A strings. It's definitely the grill because when I place my foot on the grill it stops buzzing. Has anyone else heard of this happening or know of a way I can get rid of this...

I don't care what I bought, they sound amazing and are exactly what I was looking for, that's all that matters. :D

2 things to clarify: 1) I know Mike Tobias doesn't wind his own strings, I got a little confused in my response. I don't know which company does produce them for MTD and I don't care, they sound great. 2) Ease up on the tone there buddy, the package doesn't tell me if the CORE is round or hex.
