Repair shop told me they couldn’t do fretwork twice? Advice needed.

Just my humble opinion, but I would thing a good tech could at least explain what they're seeing and why they felt that the end result wouldn't meet your requirements. My guitarist/friend happens to be one of the best repair guys in my area. He can read an instrument and will explain exactly...

Setup issue - lowering bridge into body an option?

I have an Aria clone from '78. Neck was fine, but the bridge would only go so low. The Hipshot did the trick for me without destroying anything. If I remember correctly I had to drill a couple additional holes to mount the bridge, but the holes will all be under the original bridge if anyone...

    NBD Waterstone TP-12

Congratulations! After a few years of searching/waiting, I picked up one from this batch as well. Robert is a rock star for customer service. I agree, the build quality is there. Super comfy neck and not too bad for diving. I find my picking arm to be a handy counter balance, and that big fat...

New Spector Euro 5 CST! What do you guys think?

I agree with the "if you don't like the finish and it's an easy return, return it" camp. I'm not a fan of that finish style, but I can see the beauty in that instrument. That being said, the only opinion that actually matters is yours.

USA Spector abalone inlay hairline crack

If it was recently purchased from Spector, I'd reach out to Spector for direction. They made it, they work with those materials all day long, and they're the best place to get proper answers.

Aria & Aria Pro II Club (Part Four)

My top five: SB Elite I Black n Gold (My #1 in so many ways. Desired because of C.B., but ended up being so much more) SB Elite II Black n Gold (Kent Armstrong pickups. It's a monster) CS Black n' Gold (Like a mini Elite I! Big thanks to @Prostheta on this one, if it wasn't for him it wouldn't...

For sure spanners exist... it's finding one that'll fit that small diameter that's the trick. ;)

Aria & Aria Pro II Club (Part Four)

Many old Yamaha basses had tuners with that same sort of collar. The tool to tighten them is a little spanner wrench. Rare as hen's teeth. Truth is, you usually don't need the tool to work with them Most of the time finger tight will get you there. Could go tighter with some sort of pliers, but...

Aria & Aria Pro II Club (Part Four)

I've searched everywhere for the dual concentric pots (Elite II, SB900, RSB Deluxe, etc.) In the end, I wanted them more on my BnG II than my RSB so the latter got modern pots and knobs.

    I need some advice

What a nightmare. Hopefully the buyer is willing to give it a little time, and hopefully it shows up. Looks like all of the best advice for future shipments has been given, but I'll share my personal philosophy on insurance: Always insure anything that's worth more than I'm willing to lose.

    Clean up classifieds

This is why I expressly mentioned not deleting the ads, but merely closing them. Then using the filters for only available gear would work even better! :)

    Clean up classifieds

There are so many dead ads in the classifieds that are obviously outdated but remain open. No doubt the number of abandoned ads will always grow. Would it make sense to clean these up a bit? Perhaps identify all ads with no responses or bumps for more than say a year or two and mark them as no...
