There are so many dead ads in the classifieds that are obviously outdated but remain open. No doubt the number of abandoned ads will always grow. Would it make sense to clean these up a bit? Perhaps identify all ads with no responses or bumps for more than say a year or two and mark them as no longer available? Maybe auto close them by policy after a certain amount of time with no activity? I wouldn't think that most folks actively selling items would be affected by this. In the case of false positive, the user would just have to update the status to re-open the ad. I wouldn't want to see them deleted for the sake of historical reference, but I constantly find myself looking at something still marked for sale and then realizing the ad is from ten years ago and the user has moved on and left their mess. Just a thought.
