So had one of these installed by a local tech and I was wondering if it should be springy? It looks like he used the springs and screws from the old pickup cover, which is fine, but the springiness is a little off putting.

I just got my 4003 back from setup and bezel install. Holy crap, I'm glad I did. Having a place to rest my thumb comfortably makes my Ric a breeze to play.

Thanks for all the responses! After playing with it extensively for the past few days I think I'm going to try sans cover. I ordered a bezel and I'll have it put in when I take it in for a setup. I'm more of a finger player and it seems like there's not much real estate with the cover on.

So I posed this in the setup forum but thought I'd ask here as well. Last week I bought a 4003w and so far it's amazing. One thing I noticed is the bridge pickup cover seems a little loose, I can wiggle it ever so slightly. Is this normal or is this a manufacturing defect I should have looked at?
