Is there a reason dingwall doesn't do headless basses? Sheldon seems to be pretty keen on the engineering aspect of bass design, and headless frankly is superior in most ways to headstock; it seems weird that they don't already have the option.

I'd be curious how many of the people slapping on tighter string spacing are using double-thumb techniques. I have pretty average sized hands and I notice a significant difference in ability to slap as the string spacing narrows, particularly for technical double-thumbing. Which is a shame...

Poor analogy. Having the technique to play something musically easily transfers to other musical endeavors, and gives more options and tools to the performer.

I'm not sure you've practiced floating thumb enough...none of those negatives are true if you're used to it. I find it substantially easier to do fast octaves while floating and can rake or dig in just as hard as an anchoring technique.

I'm looking to try relatively higher tension on the lower frequency strings, and very low on the higher strings. Currently using 40-120, but wanted to experiment.

Does anybody have suggestions for strings that have progressive tension for the 1505MS?
