The problem is not the A/B, it's about merging two signal into one. And possibly the buffers before it.

I don't use an ABY pedal, which one are you referring too? The A/B or the 2in1out?

Boss DD-7, I've got 3 of them... One for my bass and two for my synth.

I've got one on my board and I like it alot. It's fun to use and very over the top. It sounds better on bass than on guitar I think. It felt like it got pretty screechy and a bit too robot-sounding sometimes with guitar. With bass its more roar-y. Some of the settings gets old pretty fast...
