Two layers of Electrical tape in the bridge, under the pickups installed between E & A and A & D. The bass now sounds great! One can try other placements, for example: a single layer of electrical tape under the E & A pickup and two layers between the D & G.

I just replaced my Toby Pro 6-strings preamp board (inexpressive) by a Aguilar on-board preamp OBP-2 and observed a significant improvement in the sound. I am considering changing the pups at a later occasion, but am not sure by which (suggestions much welcome!)... So far this fretted bass...
