Got a Yamaha BB435 recently. It’s well built and very stable. My only complaint is that the pickups seem kind of bland. I was a sax major in college and recall that Yamaha saxes seemed to be the same - well made, not much “character.” Anybody else noticed this? There aren’t any Yamaha dealers...

Update… Thanks to everyone who commented and made suggestions. I found out there was more to my issue. Upon unscrewing the tree and removing it to slide a washer under the disc part of the tree, I discovered a hole that looked to have been drilled by a three year old. A small piece of wood also...

Yeah, that’s already done, but since it’s a fiver, the A string is longer than on a four so I’ll need to bring the angle down more with the tree.
