Would be great with Melbourne Instruments’ Roto Control too.

Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

Thank you. I feel very lucky to have the support of so many people here and on Basschat, despite never having met most of the people. There are folks I have become very good friends with, having talked to them regularly for many years now, even though we’ve yet to meet in person. Like the way...

Thank you. Your incredibly kind words come at a very timely moment. Things continue to be pretty tough here. Two weeks ago my children’s mother died from a recurrence of the cancer she’d been treated for in 2020/2021. We’ve known since January but it’s still hit me very hard, despite the fact we...

Frustratingly 4Control can’t be updated by itself, despite having a USB port (I questioned this choice at the time of development). Any USB-MIDI interface should work to send the update (including, hilariously, another 4Control).

Almost certain it does not as I seem to recall asking Andras about this a while ago when another user asked.

Yes. Perhaps some examples of the kind of sounds you’re after would help others to give guidance on how to go about programming them.

There’s an excel spreadsheet somewhere that explains all the envelope stage values. Might even be buried in this thread somewhere.

The latest update included about 20 cover band patches, including most of the tunes from which the stock MXR patches are drawn.

The two pedals occupy quite different areas: the MXR is a relatively basic pedal in terms of features compared to the FI4. True, for getting to basic sounds quickly, the MXR has hit a sweet spot, and sometimes that is exactly what is needed. Having said that, there’s still a lot of fairly basic...

The FI4 can absolutely function like that. Whilst you can’t alter the basic waveforms without the editor, you can just select a preset that uses the desired waveform (from the 198 onboard ones), modify the other parameters (filter, envelope, etc) and save it to a new slot, all just using the...

Basically instead of using the CCs, have the MS send PC messages on a scroll counter. You can limit the range so that they only send 1-99 (or fewer if you so desire). You can then also have the program number displayed on the MS.

Indeed, it’s far less than ideal, isn’t it?

This is covered in the v4.51 document: Bank Up/Down aren’t available in FM. There was a code space issue in FM and a choice had to be made. (I pushed to sacrifice a different feature that likely wouldn’t have been missed in FM in order to have all MIDI commands consistent across all engines...
