    NBD 90s Ibanez SR866

    So I got this amazing Ibanez for a great price! Never seen one other than this- 1991. Fujigen Japan SR866. It sounds and plays amazing! Its as good as any Ibby Prestige, Warwick, Spector etc. I tried. Anyone with some experience with this guy?

    Warwick Thumb wont play through AUX into stereo

    My P/J Peavey and vintage fretless (both passive) and Ibanez SR505 (active) all played normaly when pluged into aux of my Sony stereo, but my Warwick gives no sound what so ever... Can anyone enlight me on this issues? Thx upfront

    How many years (if any) did you play 4 strings before buying a 5 string?

    Got my first bass at 17 and a 5 string by 18. Practiced like 2 days to get the grip and went playing live. tbh no point in returning to a 4string ever again

    Are expensive basses (rickenbacker, American standard fender, etc.) worth it?

    US Fenders are the most overpriced things in existence, you can litteraly get better instruments with an actual QC for half the price. Ricks are a different things, since they are pretty unique and with less competition.

    Considering an Ibanez SR500

    I had an SR505- same thing, just a 5 string. Would recommend it 110% pros: -awesome neck, very close to a jazz, just a bit thinner. Plays like butter. I used to swap this bass with my Warwick Thumb, the transion is nonexistent -great hardware; the tuners do well and the bridge works flawlessly...

    Ever since I got a big-ass EBS levy strap I can berely feel the neck dive on my Thumb 5 (the king of ND)

    Have you ever broken your straplock?

    I have a schaller straplock on my warwick thumb 5. The bass is on the heavy side, and tbh, I feellike the straplock might brake during playtime. It just doesent fills me with confidence. The straplocks are installed 100% correctly, if anyone wonders... Am I just paranoid or do these things happen?

    DR B string breakage

    I have used exc. only DR Hi-Beam for the past 5-6 years on my warwick and ibanez, the B string always worked flawlessly. Looks like there is an issue with your bass.

    Are you loyal to 1 brand or all different brands ?

    I just have "more love" to some brands- I realy love EBMM and Warwick. As a company, I dislike Fender and Gibson. Others are come-and-go.
