what did you mean by this? I am currently in the market for some pickups for my MIM Fender J, and am not sure if you mean the 4J-60 pups which are the "60's Style" or the hum cancelling ones (the 4J-HC) like the picture you posted depicts. Thanks!

I'm sure the gain/master affects the volume sent to the mixer, regardless of the post/pre setting. I found out during a gig awhile back, while trying to get my amp sound the guitarist kept tellin me to stop changing my volume (for the pa level), haha

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I guess for some reason I thought I could 'tame' the pickle but ended up returning it and getting an aguilar tone hammer. Ags always on, with a clean tone, but enough to have some grit when played harder. Never been so satisfied with with a purchase such as this...
