I tried various cables with the same result. My partner took the access plate off and had a look. It is a tube shaped barrel jack socket. We couldn't see anything obstucting it so we pushed a little harder and twisted it slightly and the jack went in fine. We got it out ok too, so now I know...

My partner took the access plate off the back very carefully and we could not see what was stopping the jack from fitting exactly so we pushed a little harder and twisted it and it went in properly. Hopefully it was just a little tight.

Hmmm... I've just noticed while using my Boss tuner that the jack plug doesn't go all the way into the jack plug socket on the bass. The Boss tuner still works normally though. I don't have an amp to test the jack socket with. Does this sound like a problem? :hmm:
