I hope I am posting this in the right place. I have a brand new Ibanez Mikro bass. I have just discovered that the jack plug doesn't go all the way into the jack socket on the bass. I bought the bass over the internet from Germany so it isn't very practical to send it back.

Is this just a small job? If I open up the back pannel will i see the jack socket and be able to bend it a little and sort this out myself? Or should I take it to a professional guitar doctor?

it'll either be a panel jack on a plate (which you can bend out to work properly again) or a tube-shaped barrel jack (which is enclosed, and can't be fixed, only replaced for like $10).

I tried various cables with the same result. My partner took the access plate off and had a look. It is a tube shaped barrel jack socket. We couldn't see anything obstucting it so we pushed a little harder and twisted it slightly and the jack went in fine. We got it out ok too, so now I know it's just very snug.
