Bass Effects Software for live playing

You could try Ableton LIVE, it has a comprehensive library of effects plugins and is designed with live playing as opposed to recording in mind.

who actually makes dubstep with a band?

There are probably better or different options out there but we chose the VB to give it a go and seems to work fine. My bass player has a favourite bass that he likes to play too (musicman stingray) so using a MIDI pickup suits us. I was using plugins through logic before i bought Ableton, but...

Cheers for the links. We have actually got most of our gear imported from the US anyway, its too expensive here. We both run Ableton on seperate laptops. The program essentially acts as a mixer that supports the VST synths and samplers (mostly drumrack) that we use when playing live. Each...

Yeah its the VB-99. It will only accept the pickup that comes with the unit, i dont think you can use anything else as it has a custom plug. Happy to answer your questions:) It was a headache for us figuring out how to do this because no-body else was so fire away.

We use a Roland V-bass which has a thru to midi feature. Its not that easy to play though. You have to be very precise.
