best lightweight gigging rig for vintage p bass tones?

I’ve put a few rigs through their paces, and have decided on sticking with an AG700 and SL112. It’s light, powerful, portable, sounds great, and isn’t overkill for my needs. Thanks for your help!

Club Bergantino! Let's See Those Rigs!

So, I just bought an Aguilar AG700 amp and cab, and I like it a lot….but I do have a return policy in effect and am very curious about the Bergantino stuff….mainly a Forte HP2 and two Refernce 12’s.. Before I dive in, max out my cc, and get them both side by side to try in person, can somebody...

    My new TH700 and SL112

Had to run an errand, and while I was out, the FedEx guy showed up. My new TH700 and SL112 required a signature, which I wasn’t there to give. So, no NAD today.

best lightweight gigging rig for vintage p bass tones?

Hi friends. Op here again. I think I’m going to buy a few amps to try, and return all but the one I decide I like best. I think I’ll buy a TH700 and a WD800, to compare against my Clarus and AG700. I’ll return whichever I don’t love, and sell any existing amps I own after I decide….until I...

best lightweight gigging rig for vintage p bass tones?

when I first started looking for an amp a while back, that was my first choice. But I kept reading about a problem with them shutting down unexpectedly amd intermittently, and was not able to see that the issue was ever resolved, so I stopped considering them. I wonder if the issue was ever fixed?

best lightweight gigging rig for vintage p bass tones?

I keep reading people describe the Mesa stuff as bright, clinical, and lacking low end punch. I saw some of the cabinet specs, and many of them don’t extend down to 42 Hz. (Freq of the low E). I’m worried they might not have enough low end. As I mentioned, I am more of a roots player, and I...

best lightweight gigging rig for vintage p bass tones?

    1. Wiling to pay for quality 2. Head and cabinet, no combos 3. Lighter is better, but I don’t want to sacrifice tone for weight. That being said, I want to stick with a single cab for now. 4. Small and medium size clubs 5. No real pa support for small rooms, but good pa for medium rooms...

Been looking at those ceramic Berg cabs. I’m very interested. I like the 2x10 as a small, stand-alone cab. Or an Aguilar SL12 or 15

    Lightweight Cabinet rec?

Hi! I have been playing guitar for over 30 years, and started playing bass a few years ago. Up until now, my bass playing has solely been in the studio, never live. Well, I finally lined up some live gigs and need a rig. I play a P Bass with flats, and go for an old school soul/Motown/blues...

PJ vs P vs J….please advise!

I’m on the hunt for a 5 string bass. I already own a 4 string Nash P bass, and I like it a lot. I have been wanting a 5 string and decided to take the plunge. At first I was set on a jazz style v, now I’m also considering a pj. I don’t slap, so that “both pickups” sound a traditional j...
