Official Lab Series (Gibson / Norlin) Amp Club

Yes it’s an awesome amp. I had covers made for it. Just picked up an Alvarez 5 string like the one I so regretfully let go back in ‘98. It sounds awesome thru that amp. I’m playing DR Black beauties. It still has a warm tone and tons of headroom.

Official Lab Series (Gibson / Norlin) Amp Club

I’ve been playing my L2 for years. When I got it the original speaker had been replaced with a cheap speaker. I ordered an Eminence, can’t remember the model now because it’s been so long. It’s their answer for a vintage cab. Had covers made and this thing rocks!

    Church is Stressing Me Out.....

Don’t sweat it! I’ve played in church most of my life. From southern gospel, country gospel, black gospel, and now contemporary. One thing I have learned, 99% don’t know when you make mistakes and those that do are at church for the wrong reason. When it comes to contemporary most all the songs...

Is older heavier gear getting cheap since light weight is the fad?

I still play thru a ‘79 L2 head and L2 cab with a 15” eminence speaker. For my spare amp I have a Crate bx-100. It’s 300 Watts, it to is now equipped with an eminence speaker. I’m not a crate fan by no means. The crate was a freebie. The new speaker totally changed the crate sound and now this...

    NAMM what gives?!?

Godin has a really nice jazz that sounds and plays Awesome!! At the Nashville show this year. Out of all the basses I played that is the bass I’m most impressed with. I have a ‘63 and ‘64 jazz and the Godin plays and sounds as good or better than any of my basses. If I were to buy new that’s the...

    NAMM what gives?!?

I’ve owned a lot of basses over the last 40yrs. I’ve owned so many styles with so many different p/u setups, neck setups, different woods even tried an acrylic bass once. Never had one that I really got the playability and sound that I’m looking for. I had 1 bass that for some reason I keep...
