    Totally amateur recordings thread

Hey! Haven't posted in a while :) Long story short: this is a side-project that kind of happened overnight, was unexpected and is purely remote. We are 2 in this "pseudo band" and as suggested only work on songwriting remotely :) This is our first "release"... enjoy!

Yeah I believe you already mentioned that cap mod when I got the Goth. Kinda of forgot about it as I was very busy lately 😊 I'll definitely give it a try! As for the cobalts, I actually have an unopened set laying in a drawer, but I'm afraid it won't be suited to what we play (sort of mix...

Wow, so went to last night's rehearsal for the first time with my recently aquired Epiphone Goth and a Damnation Audio MBD3... Holy crap the studio rumbled and everyone was in shock :smug: Not sure what are the stock pickups on that bass but they bring hell to earth with that distortion pedal!

    SPECTOR® Owners Club

I've had a legend that was ok, still own a Korean Pulse II pimped with emgx, LHZ-04 and gotoh gb350 tuners, dimension 4 (fishman pups) and recently got a Euro4. From a pure personal playability/comfort standpoint, my Pulse is the nicest (that fast, thin roasted maple neck with ebony fretboard is...

Nope, 9v but I do hear a difference between the X and non-X series

Wouldn't know, mine came in a P/J X set where the J is meant to be in bridge position... wasn't aware of 2 different sizings.

Well the X set was pulled from my Spector Pulse II, where the J is also in the bridge position. Either EMG changed pickup dimensions, either Spector Europe use different specs than Spector Korea. I'll settle for the non X versions, they are fine... Just a bit less headroom.

Yes the J is larger and the screw holders are a bit wider apart but the P seems the same

Actually it's worse as there is nothing I can do about it without modifying the bass. Won't do that so I'm screwed. Good thing it sounds good as-is :)

    SPECTOR® Owners Club

Bad surprise today... wanted to swap out the EMG P/J set in my euro4 from 2009 with a set of EMG P/J-X. Well the form factor of the pups is not the same  I would have to re-route the table to get them in there... first piss-off. Second: wanted to drop-in Gotoh GB350 tuners to lower the...

Music Man StingRay Club | PART FIVE

As suggested by other MM non-treated maple neck owners : dish washing liquid mixed with warm water (the pink stuff in the bowl on the picture) and an old cotton tshirt. I dipped a piece of tshirt in the soapy water, wrang it out to not over-wet the board and went ham on the neck :) Immediatly...
