2025 Sting Ray Special in "Dazzler"
There is no way to capture how cool this colorway is. It's white, it's predominantly pink, it's green, it's gold, it's purple.

I didn't like Dazzler finish from photos until I saw in person. It's very cool and definitely unique.Hello

It photographs for crap. It's honestly epic in person in both low and high light conditions. In low light it's very white and sparkly with faint hues. In direct natural light it's sooooo many flopping colors and pearl hues.
This thing is light, like under 8lbs for sure. Balances great as well.
Really really liking the neck. Highly roasted and just fast. Fits the hand well. Kind of obsessed with the neck to tell you the truth.
The Bongo has a great neck as well, bonus points for how heavy the flame is on that one. As pretty to look at as it feels good to play.
The Sterling, what can I say? It's a Sterling and just a ripper of a bass.
The AL has the least amount of exposure (just showed up yesterday).
Need to get them all set up the same (the Bongo and the Stingray are darn close) with the same strings and do some heavy comparisons.
Feel pretty lucky to be this Music Man deep at the moment.

Is it Ebony board on that Big Al? Or just dark rosewood?

Le Big Al is a different beast altogether— I love Stingrays to death but there's something to be said about having two bands of onboard selectable mids. For a single pickup system, it's incredibly robust.It's Ebony

Nice I love ebony boards. I have a Bongo 5HS so am familiar with the 4 band EBMM preamp. The Big Al has passive mode on top of that which is pretty cool.
Will be interested to hear your thoughts as you get used to it
the passive aspect is what really draws me to this bass, as well as the parallel/ series buttons.
That's why I love the Stingray 5H, series setting is so good
Long story short : I had to return the previous used Stingray I snagged as it ended up the seller had stolen it from a relative to sell it...
But I'm back with another used Stingray, 100% legit this time baby
So here's my new-to-me '98 2EQ Stingray in what seems to be pearl blue (although in person it's more of a greenish-blue than the camera can capture). Strings are off as I had to really really clean the filthy fingerboard, did a fret polish and oiled it back up
Let's go !
But I'm back with another used Stingray, 100% legit this time baby

I've never tried the 2 EQ of that era, only the pre ernie ball and the later Stingray Classic run.
