I run into my Peavey Max 118 which has transtube. Would the sansamp be better for o/d?

I'm considering a Sansamp BDDI and it does wonders for my Jazz American Special. I have not found much need for it though with my Washburn XB925 with active pickups. It seems to be a duplicate to the basses pre-amp. Does anyone use one with an active bass and if so, how?

I have 2, a Fender Jazz American Special 4 string and a Washburn XB925 5 string. Love playing both.

Just bought my first Washburn bass a couple of days ago. It's an XB925 in Cherry Sunburst. It was on cg for cheap so I thought I'd buy it and maybe flip it. Cleaned it up and played it and I think I like it better than my Jazz bass. It's also my first 5 string and I'm really liking that.
