That’s a brilliant idea!, but I have one question: If you used double sided tape to avoid drilling, how did you manage the screws? Are they just the screw heads glued into the holes, or did you use shortened screws that don't actually reach the wood?
Hello there!
Today I am wondering something that you might be able to clarify:
I found a Gibson Thunderbird 120 anniversary edition in a natural walnut finish. I feel tempted to do some mods such as changing the pickups for the vintage reissues 60s, replacing the bridge for a silver Babicz one...
Thank you! I'm trying to do justice to this work of art haha.
Absolutely, I think that if there's a picture there should be a video so it can be heard, it is music at the end.
Thanks for watching!
Yes! it is an outstanding work of art if you ask me and the sound its just amazing. Then go and play one!
Thanks Mike. That's a very good point there, playing with the knobs (which I recommend everybody to do) can open new sonic endeavors for sure.
Yeah, the bridge pickup is HOT...
Well, a Thunderbird, what can I say? I just happen to like them... a lot. This bass plays great, sounds great, and (of course) looks amazing.
The action is absolutely fantastic, especially considering I tune to D Standard with a very low setup. The electronics are dead quiet two volumes and one...
That's right, it totally look and sound the part (although I might try some different strings in the future tho), thank you!
Yeah I was actually very surprised when I got it, plus the it feels smooth to the touch. The AB series seems to be very high quality. How do you like the bronze...
It has been a long time since I last owned an acoustic bass, and let me tell you, this one ROCKS big time! The feel is amazing, with a nice deep thumping sound, great color, and solid hardware; overall, it looks and sounds very, very good. Right now, it is strung with D'Addario Chrome flats...
Nice pickups, I think that I would not call them an improvement over the stock ones tho, they're slightly different in the mid/ high mid register, they do sound a bit brighter than the others, but I think that the low end is more prominent on the stock ones.
