    Modifying a Gibson EB-0 - adding a brighter pickup

Maybe that'd be the best thing to do, that's what the Fender S-1 switch does right?

    Modifying a Gibson EB-0 - adding a brighter pickup

Hey guys I've been a Jazz bass player for years but just got hold of a beautiful 1969 Gibson EB-0. It's lovely to play and the humbucker-the-size-of-your-face gives unlimited low end, but I do miss the Jazz Bass's presence/definition a bit. I just did a quick side by side test with the EB-0, an...

    Double Bass BROKEN NECK

Struggling to find a drill bit that can do what needs to be done. The break is about 90mm from the front (beneath the fingerboard) and I've got 3mm dowel. I need to go at least 20mm the other side of the break I guess so I need a drill bit with 110mm of length with only a 3mm diameter... can't...

    Double Bass BROKEN NECK

should the dowels be at this kind of angle? also as you can see from the one to last image in the reply above, the neck appears to be in two parts, you can see a vertical line down the centre. Reckon I should just do one dowel 3 or 4mm dowel either side of this?

    Double Bass BROKEN NECK

Neither of these products seem to be distributed in the UK. Anyone know of an equivalent product that is? Here are some further photos of the crack, again I pulled it open so you can see inside a bit better. Still quite a bit of the old epoxy to get out but getting there.

Is there a particular brand you'd recommend? Again - thank you SO much for all your advice.

    Double Bass BROKEN NECK

There is indeed. I've cleaned out the joint with acetone and lots of picking / patience so I might post some more photos to see what people think. As much as I'd prefer a professional to do it I don't have the time/money or know anyone good in the Brighton/Sussex area - don't suppose...

    Double Bass BROKEN NECK

Thanks very much to you all for your advice. I could do with more detailed instructions, I'll probably give a repair a go and report each step along the way for those of you interested in following the process. So it looks like the general consensus is: 1. Clean out all the epoxy from...

    Double Bass BROKEN NECK

Hello all Long time reader first time poster. I have sustained some fairly serious damage but basically have no money to repair or replace. I got the bass cheap because it was cracked at the neck and had a dodgy repair job. See pictures - basically it came apart over time, was glued...
