    deep lows on a budget

thanks Mike, ill check out what Acme might offer. To be clear i am looking for really deep lows, almost reggae dub lows. So i just want to know could an ampeg svt 610hlf go low enough?

    deep lows on a budget

thanks that looks promising, but i dont know if a single 15 will be loud enough for gigs without pa support and the occasional backyard gig would it?

    deep lows on a budget

his bass is flat, hes not the problem. theres just no low end thump coming from my cab.We recorded with a mic and put it to eq graph and my lows came in around 80hz while his lows were 100hz at the same db. the mic picked up the lows at 40hz from my cab but they dbs werent very high and so i...

    deep lows on a budget

the speakers are in phase, sorry thats a typo. i checked, the speakers are not blown and they are in phase i did the 9volt battery test. the cab is in good working condition its just not very low, i had this same problem with my avatar b210 which turned out it had kappa 10s and those were never...

    deep lows on a budget

i dont want to go past 600. would more speakers give better lows? I never have pa support for gigs. Also i just want one cab, i feel ok with volume on my 4x10, but i wouldnt mind being louder with a bigger cab, the most important thing is the lows.

    deep lows on a budget

I dont like my current rig. I have an ampeg pf500 with an acoustic b410 and the low end isn't very low. The guitarist in my band has better lows! the guitarist cab goes as low or in some cases lower than my bass cab.(his bass setting was set flat) i have read that the acoustic b410 is cheap...

    speaker area

so a vertical 4x10 will give more dispersion? i've played a 6x10 and that has more speaker surface area than a guitarists 4x12 and i noticed the lows filled up the place soooo what everyone is saying is that thats coincidence and its more likely that 6x10 had longer excursion and more...

    speaker area

my guitarist's cab has a lot of low end dispersion you can feel his lows much better than mine. i have the bass pumping, but its more centered. whereas his cab seems to be sending the lows from the front, side, and behind. my cab tends to just beam the lows and so is it the lack of speakers or...

    speaker area

soooooo, one speaker can create just as full a sound as a lot of speakers? so the solution is more efficient speakers? im not trying to get louder, im trying to have a sound that doesnt seem so beamed, but rather has a lot of dispersion

    speaker area

if the guitarist has a 4x12 with a 50 watt head then his speaker surface area is like 452 right? so to compete with him is to have that much surface area or more, right? i know there's fearful cabs and super 15's but doesn't having a comparable speaker surface area provide a much more fuller...

    do i need more cab

LOL yes more cabs! I guess i need to clarify even more, the guitar distorted is much louder than the clean guitar, but the distortion pedal sucks out his mids which allows the bass to sit ok, but not great in the band mix. During the clean parts, his mids come back in and just wipe out my...

    do i need more cab

im talking about clarity, i feel like the cab has a big dip in the midrange so theres no clarity coming from the speakers, im still very new to bass and amps. idk if thats the way it is with bass amps and you just really cant hear yourself crystal clear. its very hard to cut through the mix...
