Building a Phil Lesh rig - Advice, discussion and b.s.

This bass rig has been holding up well and sounds incredible! My power amp stopped working though so now I need to buy another one. I was looking at Behrenger because they're much cheaper but my guy at Sweetwater says it's a bad idea because they are notorious for failing in a portable rackmount...

So this is how amazing Alembics are. I get to the show at 5 o’clock and immediately take my base out to get acclimated to the cold temperature. By 7 o’clock I’m finally turning on my equipment to do a sound check. I turn on my tuner check every string and everything’s perfectly in tune before...

I’m a nice guy and bought a pack of 20 so everyone in the band can have 1! Show starts in 3 hours. Hitting the road soon (1 hour drive from Chicago)

I hadn’t considered handwarmers. Never used them in fact. How does that work do I just put them in my pocket in between songs get a quick warm-up?

Thanks for the replies. That’s what I kind of figured. I know I’d be a lot more concerned if it was my acoustic guitar but I feel like with a solid body electric base I should be fine. I am very concerned about how my fingers will handle it tho!!

Question for everyone: My band has an outdoor gig tonight in the Chicagoland area. Supposed to get down to 40 degrees, with wind it will probably feel like 35. How bad is it for my spoiler to be outside in that kind of weather for a few hours? I don’t really have an alternative base to play but...

I really don’t know what to say other than thank you so much for the kind words. I picked up the bass two years ago and I bet I’ve logged at least 1,500 hours of practice in those two years. I’ve put more time into bass in thos two years than I probably have into guitar in the last 10! Either...

I finally have some video of my Phish tribute playing. The YouTube link below contains set 1 of 2 from our show on 09.16.2022. You will be able to see the RS410V behind me but it's not super obvious because I'm blocking it and the video is fixed zoom. The audio is really good considering its...

I will post some pictures soon. I have been very busy this summer playing shows but I just wanted to give a quick update on this STELLAR rig! I have had sooooo many compliments on the sound of this rig which I will attribute mostly to David @ RevSound. The tone of the RS410V is EXACTLY what I...
