How is the r8 by itself with the upright?

By people I know and I am friends with - and I like playing upright a lot. I still get shows and other gigs on guitar - classical guitar playing is more of a personal interest at this point. I like the playing I am doing. Just looking to clean up some technique. Thanks!

This is true - but I do get called to play upright a lot, while classical was my main instrument years ago, I still like to play. Sometimes trying to do it all is tough - so agreed!

I can do most of my playing this way, and I do, sometimes switching off to my middle. It is only when I want to play fast lines that I need to alternate. Thanks.

I have used my Bud 6 (the older one) for guitar, uke, banjo, upright bass, electric bass, and as a PA - yes a PA. As long as it is a smaller venue, it's amazing. I will never sell it. Great for rehearsals, has line in for parties, DI, speaker output, etc. Just an amazing tool. AND - it sounds...

I am trying that also - for some reason it seems I am still getting the clicky sound. I will keep trying that. I do use the side of my index, so when I only use that it's fine. I will do some scales real slow and see what I can do - thanks.

I am a guitar player who plays upright bass frequently. I keep my right hand nails long enough to use for classical guitar playing. I have trouble doing pizz quickly if I alternate between my index and middle finger on the upright. If I pizz only with my index, it's not a problem with the nail...

Does the variax bass have a tuning knob? Are there any other modeling basses? I do not like playing my 5 string and only need a low D or C every now and then - tuning knob like on my Variax guitar would be insane. OR - be able to program a model with a low D or C?
