    Budget Bass Build

Thx fot the tip! The stock bridge is missing some saddle screws so a decent replacement is needed, maybe a GFS high-mass? No need to get too spendy. I believe it's an Affinity... I'm out in a semi for a few weeks at a time and thankfully it has a 1500w inverter to plug into. The Bronco 40 looks...

    Budget Bass Build

I've been resisting the bass urge for a while. Normally, I'm a hobby guitarist/modder. So now its time for a budget build to scratch the itch. I got a Squier Jazz loaded body via CL for $40. Then ordered a Geddy Lee clone neck from Rondo for $70. Probably order tuners & a bridge from GFS. Any...

Ampeg Big Stud - plywood ?

Hope yall don't mind me resurrecting this thread to ask about one of these Ampegs. I found one today at a local pawn for $150, but it has a repaired crack behind the headstock. Will a Fender-spec neck or other neck fit? What would a good price be in that condition as a project? Thx

    Pawn Shop Parts-P-Bass?

Yeah, the fretless aspect might work against me and be discouraging as I try to branch out from guitar to bass.

    Pawn Shop Parts-P-Bass?

I wish I could. I was passing thru OKC on the way home. Probably won't be back for a couple of weeks. I'm shopping for my first bass, and fretless might not be the best choice, but tempting as Tonu Franklin fan. Sometimes you stumble on some really cool deals at pawns, but ya def got to know...

    Pawn Shop Parts-P-Bass?

It sounded ok thru a small Behringer combo, but as a guitar guy new to the low-end, I'm short on info. I'm used to upgrading Squiers, but wish I knew more on IDing bass gear. How to tell if the batt compartment is stock? Neck ID. Basics like that.

    Pawn Shop Parts-P-Bass?

I was scoping the pawns today and found one that is a P-bass body with an unknown fretless neck and EMG pup. No lines, just side dots. RW-looking board. Aftermarket Fender decal on headstock. Tuners are not original. original screwholes visible. back of body has twin 9v batt compartment. Red with...

Recommend Small Amp for Travelling in a Semi?

The fun starts when I lay my head back, shades on, as some car passes me, making myself look like I'm napping, slack-jaw and all... I just enjoy having something to play with when we occasionally get laid-over somewhere, other than the wife...:smug:

Recommend Small Amp for Travelling in a Semi?

I never thought of using the Mustang...:eyebrow: That 8" speaker gets farty when I crank it up playing my Strat with .011-.058 strings. Seriously, if it would be good-to-go, that would solve that issue.:D

Recommend Small Amp for Travelling in a Semi?

I drive a semi, and use a 350W inverter to power a Fender Mustang I that draws 65w. What small bass amps would be a good choice, keeping the draw under 200W or so?
