I actually don't know what position the switch was in.. I'll have to take it all apart again.

You might be right.. I just used ohms and got correct readings from the .047 caps so I figured should be good to go on the .0047. I'll have to look into this further.. My other option is just to leave it bypassed it sounds ok..

1) the meter was allowed to settle before taking a picture. 2) the volume was weak to the point of that pickup being unusable alone. Now all volumes are equal except that the bridge pick now has more bass than before. 3) the two .047 caps measure between .047 and .050 the .0047 cap measures...

Update. I checked the .0047 capacitor and the reading was way off(see pic). So I bypassed the the capacitor and now the bridge pickup has full volume. So looks like I need a new capacitor. Anyone know where I can buy one that will work?

Thanks for the info. Plan on changing the strings this week sometime so I'll lift wiring out again and check it out..

Ahhh.. yes I did screw up and say neck pickup when I meant Bridge pickup... Sorry.. It's still low even though I tried adjustments..

So as much as I wanted until I had to change the strings to investigate I decided to to is right away. There was a short. How it happened I think I just never noticed it, could have been from factory. All I had to do was push the 47 cap. Down from shorting out that they pot. Now perfectly...

Ok perhaps it's dirty.. I'll check it when I change the strings next week.. thanks for the info..

I have two issues that I think might be possibly related. 1977 4001. 1) Bridge pickup is very quiet compared to neck pickup. 2) both volume controls seem to turn all volume down.. I'll try to explain. If I have the toggle switch in the bridge and turn both volumes up it's quiet but sounds normal...
