Can anyone recommend a good beginners book for bluegrass bass? Or video?

Thanks everyone for your input. I bought the Shen 80 for myself and a friend wanted the Eastman. Both appear to be good beginner instruments. Neck sizes by the way are virtually identical. I heard there are some $500 basses out there that are best to be avoided.

Just saw the Eastman. Nice bass but the neck feels a bit thin compared to other basses I played. Is this my imagination? Any comments?...Ricker

Hey Joe- thanks for the response. I am a brand new bass player but have a few years experience playing bluegrass guitar and mandolin. The Eastman #80 laminated top sells for $1880 so $1000 is not a bad price if in good condition. Sounds like at this point condition is everything. And tingle...

Okay Drurb- point well made my friend. To be more specific. The Eastman is a laminated top as is the Shen. I heard that Shen is one of the better (best) of the Chinese manufacturers. I don't know about Eastman basses. Do they build a good bass? The Shen SB-100 (deluxe laminated model)...

I can buy a used Eastman for $1000 or a new sb100 Shen for about $2000. I don't know what condition the Eastman is. The Shen will be professionally set up. Any comments?
