OK, Same problem (open A rattle, same with hitting 12th fret harmonic, finger on string behind nut stops it). So...P-bass scale is 34", distance from nut to tuner is ~3.4" (1/10), sympathetic resonance! Two layers of heat shrink 3" long on the string between nut and tuner and, while not gone...
