What all comes with buying a bass online?

I recommend you call and ask them. I bought my Hofner from Musicians Friend and a hardshell case wasn't listed. I wasn't too concerned about it, since I'm between bands, it'd mostly sit on a stand when not being played. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it came with one. A pretty nice...

    Anyone Else Name Their Instruments?

I'm not sure how many people do this, but I sure do. I remember my first bass was a red Yamaha RBX that I named Rose because it was, well, red and I'm not that clever. When that finally crapped out on me, it was replaced with a natural finish Samick that I named Blondie. Eventually had to...

Do You Think A Punk Cover Band Is Viable?

Seeing as how punk is largely a scene-based genre, why not focus on a specific region in a certain period. I'd love to see a band specializing in UK 82 bands.

    best Fender Bass?

Brand loyalty is a funny thing. To the OP, I just now realized I've never played a proper Fender, just knock offs and copies. Guess what I'll be doing when I get back to the States. :p

Before you buy a bass, talk to a pretty girl

Speaking of which... how do you think a red tort pickguard would look on a violin bass with black finish. Don't answer that. ;)

    The Rickenbacker Club Part Seven

The singer from my old band's pa had a Ric that he let me play a couple times. Holy cow did I fall in love. I keep hoping that one day I'll be able to justify the cost.

Before you buy a bass, talk to a pretty girl

To the people calling for the OP's death (hyperbole mine): Do you ask anyone for any sort of input before buying a bass? If so, why not add a pretty lady into the mix? Doesn't necessarily mean you follow their advice, but they can add a perspective.

Has any one regretted selling a certain bass?

I had this cheapo Samick bass that I sold because I was short on rent. Aside from some wiring issues, the thing was a beauty. Looked good, played well, and sounded amazing. It could handle everything I threw at it, country, indie-rock, progressive death metal.

    The violin bass club

I don't have any pictures of mine handy. I'll post them when I get back to the states. Out of curiosity, is there any place that makes custom pick guards for the Hofner?

Before you buy a bass, talk to a pretty girl

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I didn't think he meant tossing her a catalog and telling her to pick your new bass out. I thought he meant finding a couple basses he likes and then asking her which one suits him best aesthetically. I ended up buying a Hofner violin bass through a similar process...
