Good news! Did you also try the La Bella FLB or FSB? (never used the extra low tension...?) All tone controls flat/middle position. No change of hiss if I turn up or down the Icetone control. If I turn down the volume at the bass then the hiss is gone - hiss is definitely produced by the bass.
