    Fender Dimension Bass Club

I sold mine a while ago but I made one reversible mod to it that really helped. I replaced the volume knob with a stacked volume/tone knob. Certainly made a difference. As for EQ, you have to fiddle around based on the amp and the room. With my GK I played mine with both high and high mids at...

    Happy 117th Birthday Leo Fender

I am surprised that their smarmy, greaseball CEO hasn't yet announced a Leo 117th Bday model for every tier of every model. You know, just to dupe some kids and fanboys with FOMO to buy more of the same old models but with different names.

New to me Auriga P Bass

That's a very nice bass but that is not an Antigua finish.

Mohini Dey 30th birthday party - did anyone here go?

One of the many awful things about social media is that I actually know who Mohini Dey is and there is absolutely nothing I can do to change that.

Oh Guitar Center, will you ever learn?

If only they sold more $350 USA SUBs.

Oh Guitar Center, will you ever learn?

That's pretty bad. I have also seen SBMM SUBs listed north of $1k because the USA SUBs are priced there at GC. It is as if Music Man and their moronic recycling of names was meant to cause this type of confusion.

    Stingray 5 worth it ?

Best you try it out and decide. It's a bit of a different instrument both design wise and in terms of specs. It's not like a stingray 4 just with a fifth string added. The string spacing is a bit narrower and the design is significantly different. I love mine and play 4 and 5 string SRs but...

Sandberg zero fret. Eaten up quick…

It's possible that they're using a nickel alloy for frets in which case you'd want to be sure to use nickel strings so they don't eat them up as quickly. If it gets to be where you need to replace the frat, the good news is you only have to replace the one and you can replace it with stainless...

    Best flats for a Precision?

Actually you can sell flats here on the TB classifieds and recover a lot of your cost, especially if you don't cut the ends. Since the whole point of flat wounds is to get them to sound broken in, people buy them secondhand sometimes with the preference of finding them already broken in!

    Best flats for a Precision?

I wouldn't think of it as what flats are best for a particular model bass, I would think of it as what flats are best for you. In other words, ask yourself what you want from your flats. If you want a mellow and broken in feel out of the box and easy playability, my go to is DR Legends. If...

    More instruments through airports drama

Pro hack- if you can afford it or use points for the upgrade, buy a business/first class ticket and your bass goes in the coat closet no questions asked. I am batting 1000 with that method for getting my bass onboard.

    More instruments through airports drama

Don't these weapons-grade morons have X-ray machines to preempt this kind of thing?

    Wal Bass Club.

The Wal circuits in these can easily be built by a skilled technician. Years ago mine failed and Harry Kolbe rebuilt the circuit from the plans I got from Pete. Works great now.
