    G&L Club Part 7

I have what I think is a 83 L2K that is finished like yours, black nitro finish over a clear finish on Mahogany. I *think*. I read somewhere they were done at the factory that way. If you zoom in you can see it on the bottom edge where it is worn. Although it’s hard to see in the picture that...

I have used this setup (1 cab) and it is loud enough for our rock band. I do set it up for a touch of overdrive, though.

I gig with a PF-50T. I use a PN-115HLF most of the time, a PF-210HE when less low end is called for. I have never had a issue on a gig with either cab and it’s a lot lighter to schlep than my B-15R

    G&L Club Part 7

I picked up one of the Sweetwater sale basses. It arrived yesterday. I’m really liking it. Talkbass strikes again! I would not have known about this deal without you helpful people

I’ve had a B-15R for a little over 20 years now. It’s a great sounding amp. But… heavy! A touch under 120 pounds. Most of my gigs nowadays are done with a PF-50T/PN-115HLF or a PF-210HE if the gig calls for less low end. Much lighter, and sounds nearly as good. My Portaflex family, plus some...

My co-number ones. Depending on whether I want fretted or fretless Although I just got a G&L L2000 that is so versatile that it may knock them down a peg

Ampeg Nerds - I need your help

Glad to be able to help. I tested out one of those when they were still available new. Almost bought it, until I tried a B-15R, and got that instead.

Ampeg Nerds - I need your help

It doesn’t have 2 channels or a tube, but the rest of your description sounds like a B3158 https://ampeg.com/data/6/0a020a40d4f4654d7087730fb/application/pdf/

    G&L Club Part 7

Rosewood. Would have been nice if it was ebony, but we can’t have everything I guess It is heavy also. A hair over 10 pounds. About the same weight as my #1, a 73 Jazz Bass, so I am used to it…

    G&L Club Part 7

I happened to look at the local Guitar Center website this weekend and saw the they had an L2000 Series E listed on their website. Went to check it out, and while not pretty looking, it played like a dream so I picked it up. I’m guessing it’s an 81 or an 82. Black, mahogany, rosewood finger...

Official Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI Club

What I have found best for playing chords on the Bass VI is to use the middle and bridge pickups together, strangle switch on, and keep above the 5th fret. Sometimes I will play them an octave up to sound more like open guitar chords.

That picture and his sound on that album sent me on a search for a 70s Fender Fretless Precision that didn’t end until I finally found one in 2001. It’s been one of my favorite basses to play ever since.

Just for reference, when I bought my B-15R new back in 2000 I paid $1400 for it.
