Are Shorter Scales the Hottest Trend in Basses Right Now?

I play them exclusively, and it started when the arthritis set in. I recorded my last album on a Schecter Hellcat VI through a Hartke attack pedal and it's the tone I want to die with. I also have an original 68 Mustang bass, an SX shorty, and recently added a Fender Starcaster bass to the...

Fender Precision Bass question: Does the fretboard material make any difference in sound or anything

I love lacquered maple. Absolutely love the feel as well as the tone. I don't give a frog's fat ass if the difference is real science or not. I'm just always having more fun when I'm playing lacquered maple, so there must be something going on with it.....

    My Band's Video

Yes, I did use that bass on a couple of songs on the album. The video guy thought it would be cool for each of us to do 5 takes in different "get-ups" (I just changed hats) using different axes. The guitar player owns the Nikki Sixx bass. Thanks for the kind words.

    My Band's Video

We just released our album that was recorded totally analog. Then we put together this video which was really fun. I recorded the bass with a Hellcat VI through a Hartke amp and Attack pedal. You guys on here hooked me up with Larry Hartke and he found me a new speaker for my cabinet. Thanks...

    Larry Hartke

I played NY extensively in the 80's. I miss 48th street. I guess Manny's (next to Sam Ash) is now the Hartke 48th Street Bass Lounge. Awesome.

    Larry Hartke

Thanks again Larry, for helping me locate a 15xl speaker for my cab. You run a top notch operation and your equipment is by far my favorite. I'm really loving my Bass Attack Pedal too!! It is reassuring to us Hartke guys that you are still active in the organization.:D

    Hartke Bass Attack

Should I use the active input on my amp (Hartke 3500) with this pedal? My bass is passive, so I've been using that input.

    Hartke Bass Attack

Wow, this pedal is amazing!!! The back of the manual has some suggestions for settings. One is called "Tom Sawyer". Gee, I wonder who that is supposed to sound like? Anyway, I used that configuration to get started and all I can say is WOW!!! I can't believe I played for 30 years without a tone...

    Hartke Bass Attack

Thanks guys. I did read the manual, but I had just worked a 10 hr day and just wasn't ready to think anymore. and I did wonder if I needed to use that output.....thanks again for the help! I'm really looking forward to using this pedal.

    Hartke Bass Attack

I got my Hartke Bass Attack preamp/DI yesterday. It seems like a pretty sweet pedal. I hooked up to it and played with it a bit and it seemed like it bypassed my signal completely. I ran my bass to the instrument input, and ran out from the parallel output (to the amp) that's on the same side as...

    15 inch speaker

Thanks guys. Looks like I have some reading to do. Good thing I'm an electronic tech and can understand that stuff.
