    AMPEG B2R(DISCONTINUED) MODEL-SOLDERING POTS

Thanks for the recommendation, was one of the first things I tried. I think it’s a problem with the relay switch (or just the associated solder joint or joints) which is for turning on and off the speaker output, because when I opened up the board and wiggled that component, it sounded okay for...

    AMPEG B2R(DISCONTINUED) MODEL-SOLDERING POTS

I'm not sure yet, but I'll have to do some soldering either way. The preamp works fine, but the power amp is fuzzing out and not putting out a lot of signal, which makes me think it could just be a bad joint.

    AMPEG B2R(DISCONTINUED) MODEL-SOLDERING POTS

There are some bad solder joints (or bad components) on the B2R I've got

    AMPEG B2R(DISCONTINUED) MODEL-SOLDERING POTS

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I only have lead-free solder, does it work okay, or would it be a disaster if they mixed?

Ampeg PF-350 vs SVT Micro VR

    It's a newer cab, 300w rms @ 8 ohms

Ampeg PF-350 vs SVT Micro VR

I have a Kustom 1x15, would a micro VR be loud enough to fill a room for rehearsals and such without pa support, or would I be better off with the pf-350?

what actuator to use with an svt blue line

What sort of low wattage power amp would sound closest to the SVT's sextet of 6550s? Anything above 50 watts is pointless for the dummy load, it would just be a v4b at that point. I guess I'm just wondering if anything below 50 watts would actually sound similar to an SVT.

what actuator to use with an svt blue line

I'm planning to build an SVT style preamp. Is there any reason I couldn't have a weak power amp with a dummy load, and run the line out from that into a solid state power amp? Or would it be better to just build a v4b style power amp?

    New Ampeg Venture Series

I tried the V7 and the DI at NAMM, and the grit sounded pretty bad on the DI, but through the venture cabs it wasn't too bad. Definitely miles ahead of any other built-in grit than any other I've tried. Not quite an SVT but pretty close, sounded quite good at relatively low settings.

Best bass overdrive tone: o/d blended with clean or o/d blended with a 'lows only' bass signal?

I just use a cranked tube amp. Don't need any pedals or anything. Don't have an SVT right now, but I built a 2w Percolator head, which is great as a power amp if you pair it with a tube pre. It's a pretty sweet rig for recording.
