Great, thanks for your help guys. So, it seems that I cannot underpower a cab, but I can damage it by pushing the amp so hard that it clips (which is what causes damage to the speakers). I think, despite this, that I might upgrade the amp first and then just make sure I don't crank it to...

Would you be so kind as to disclose some of said amp knowledge to someone less enlighted? :) Sounds like I should upgrade my other cab before I buy the new amp then...

How do you mean? From what I understand, and I may well be VERY wrong, if I use an 250watt amp with the two cabs (which can handle 500watts+) it will damage the speakers and sound muffled - is that correct?
